The UNI Eco-Stone Family of Permeable Pavers

Eco-Optiloc Fire StationUNI-GROUP U.S.A. was the first to introduce permeable interlocking concrete pavers (PICP) to North America in 1989 with our revolutionary UNI Eco-Stone® paver. As leaders in the industry, we recognized the possibilities and environmental benefits of being able to infiltrate water through the pavement surface into the ground below to help manage stormwater on site. Since, then we've added several styles of permeable pavers to meet the increasing demand for residential, commercial, municipal, institutional, and even industrial pavements - Eco-Priora,® Eco-Optiloc® and Ecoloc®.

With the advent of the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) mandate to control stormwater runoff through it's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) in the early 90's, the path was paved for the growth of permeable pavements. Since then, best management practices, stormwater management, low impact development, and green infrastructure have become the standards for site design. Infiltration practices in particular have emerged as a major focus of federal, state, and municipal agencies and the Eco-Stone® Family of Permeable Pavers utilize infiltration to control stormwater runoff.

As with our traditional interlocking concrete pavers UNI Permeable Pavers, are manufactured to the highest quality standards with minimum 8000 psi and maximum water absorption of 5%. They meet or exceed ASTM C-936 and freeze-thaw testing per section 8 of ASTM C-67. UNI Pavers have a 50-year design life based on proven field performance worldwide.

  • May reduce cost of compliance with stormwater regulatory requirements and lower utility fees
  • LEED® points for Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Materials and Resources and/or Innovative Designs
  • Contributes to Green Globes® points and supports green infrastructure initiatives and programs
  • Meets U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) stormwater performance criteria as a structural best management practice (BMP)
  • Maximizes groundwater recharge and/or storage
  • May be designed with underground storage and rainwater harvesting systems
  • May reduce heat island effect and thermal loading on surround surface waters
  • May be used on sloped sites with proper engineering design
  • Patented shapes and interlocking spacers offer superior durability under traffic loads, withstand turning movements without surface degradation/unraveling
  • Suitable for use in any climate, may be snow-plowed and can be trafficked immediately after installation
  • Reduces use of deicing material due to rapid ice melt and surface infiltration
  • Offers easy access to underground utilities and provides seamless repairs
  • Maintained with street sweeping/vacuuming
  • Meets ADA requirements for a firm, stable, and slip-resistant pavement surface
  • Can be mechanically or manually installed

Applications

  • Office, multi-family, retail and municipal plazas, courtyards and other public areas
  • Parking lots, entryways, sidewalks, patios and driveways
  • Low-speed roadways, streetscapes and street parking bays
  • Depots and storage areas (non-hazardous materials)

Eco-StoneEco-Stone

The original UNI Eco-Stone® paver has been one of the most popular permeable pavers in North America since it was first introduced in 1989. The classic shape provides structural interlock to provide a strong, durable pavement surface under vehicular traffic, yet provides an attractive design for residential, commercial, municipal and institutional pavement applications. Eco-Stone can be installed in a number of patterns, including herringbone, parquet and running bond.

DIMENSIONS:

Thickness: 3 1/8 inches (80mm)
Length: Approx. 9 inches (230mm)
Width: 4 1/2 inches (112.5mm)
Percentage of void area per sq ft:: 12.18%

Approximately 3.5 pavers per square foot

Available nationwide
